In addition to vehicles located at our Poole and Rugby sites there are also 1000s of other salvage repairable vehicles listed from other sellers located throughout the UK.
Vehicle collections can be made from our Poole and Rugby sites between 8.30am-3pm Monday to Friday. Please bring all required paperwork to ensure that we can process your vehicle and get it prepared for loading in a fast and efficient manner.
To ensure the health and safety of our customers, colleagues and employees we have updated how we undertake auction vehicle viewings on site.
All viewings are now subject to pre-booked appointments only. All bookings must be confirmed at least 24 hours prior to arriving on site for viewing. To arrange a viewing, please contact our team using the respective contact information provided below.
To ensure health and safety under these exceptional circumstances, a maximum of one person can view a vehicle at any time. In addition, vehicles can only be viewed from the outside and cannot be entered. All other rules (see below) apply as normal when viewing any auction vehicle at Poole and Rugby Charles Trent sites.
If you are already registered with our online motor salvage service and wish to view a vehicle before you bid our team will be happy to help. For a vehicle located at our Poole site, call us on +44 (0) 1202 744 194 (ext. 403) or email email@example.com to arrange a free booking. For a vehicle located at our Rugby site, call us on +44 (0) 1788 877 426 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide the vehicle reference when you get in touch.
We want to ensure that every inspection is undertaken safely on our facilities. Therefore, the following rules apply:
• A maximum of two persons are allowed to view at one time.
• You must bring your own PPE (hi-vis vest, safety footwear, gloves)
• Sensible clothing and footwear must be worn (shorts, open-toed shoes, sandals or similar are not allowed)
• Nobody under 16 years of age is allowed at any Charles Trent facility. Photographic ID may be requested as proof of age.
If you are not wearing the appropriate clothing or do not comply with our facility rules, you may be denied entry into the facility or asked to leave.
Interested in one of our vehicles but can't collect it? We offer a convenient vehicle delivery service. To get a bespoke vehicle delivery quote please email email@example.com including the vehicle make, model and registration number (if available) as well as the address and post code that you require the vehicle to be delivered to. Finally, we will need the Charles Trent site that the vehicle is being held at for auction. Once our logistics team has received your request we will be in touch at the earliest available opportunity.
It’s only fair that we offer you some discount on the parts you need when you buy a salvage vehicle at auction with us. With 35,000+ parts available in stock today we can offer 10% discount off the parts you need to get the vehicle you’ve purchased repaired. Please note that this discount applies ONLY to vehicles purchased from Charles Trent Limited. In addition, this discount cannot be used online. Instead, contact our call centre team who will be more than happy to assist with your part enquiry.
In October 2017, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) updated its Code of Practice – the rules by which the UK salvage industry works. This decision was made to reflect new vehicles materials and technology and importantly make categories more transparent for salvage buyers. Categories A and B remain but out go categories C and D. Categories S and N have been introduced as their replacements:
A written-off vehicle that cannot return to the road and must be completely destroyed.
A written-off vehicle that cannot be returned to the road and must have its chassis destroyed. Parts, however, can be removed and re-sold.
A written-off vehicle that has sustained damage to the structural frame or chassis but is considered repairable.
A written-off vehicle that has sustained non-structural damage or is stolen-recovered.
