Grey Is The New Black According To Car Buyers

Grey Is The New Black According To Car Buyers

Move over black, there's a new popular colour in town! Grey has become the most popular car colour in the UK for the first time, with over 500,000 cars specced with this option - just over 1 in 5 of all new car registrations in the UK.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reported that over half of all new cars registered were either grey, black or white.

See below how the top 10 most popular shades stacked up:

1) Grey

2) Black

3) White

4) Blue

5) Red

6) Silver

7) Orange

8) Green

9) Bronze

10) Beige

Demand for silver cars has dramatically decreased, seeing it drop out of the top five for the first time. However, sales of orange and beige grew in popularity, by 37% and 28% respectively.

With more colour options available than ever before it still baffles us that people buying new cars opt for cream. Thankfully, this trend is on the decline with this colour option seeing the biggest decline in the last year. Mind you, almost anything will beat the days of hearing aid brown!
