Today saw the unveiling of the newest team to compete in the British Touring Car Championship, the Support Our Paras Racing team powered by the Infiniti Q50.
BTCC’s newest team and its car were unveiled at St Lawrence Jewry Church, the Principle Regimental Church of the Parachute Regiment which created a fitting and perfect atmosphere for proceedings to take place. The team is backed by Pro Motorsport who support injured Paras through motorsport and will bring a fresh and fantastic new wave of interest for the already mightily successful BTCC series.
The team will comprise of Richard Hawken and Derek Palmer Jr (remember their names) novices to the BTCC series who have come from the HSCC Super Touring Car Championship hungry and relishing a new challenge.
The team is unlike any other on the grid asits primary aim is to raise awareness and funds for the Support our Paras Charity. Amongst the pit crew preparing the cars for race weekends and testing will be a number of injured servicemen.
We were lucky enough to attend the launch and unveiling as we’ve provided sponsorship to the team with our logo set to be featured on race suits and adorning the car. Currently the logos sit on the rear bumper so we’re praying for lots of friendly overtakes and little bumping!
See the unveiling of the newest BTCC car below as well as a 360 degree view of the Q50 which is a sight to behold. We’ve provided lots of pictures too, including our MD Marc Trent posing with BTCC’s hottest property.
