to ensure their End of Life Vehicles are disposed of legally and responsibly in accordance with European Union legislation.

New EU legislation (the End of Life Vehicle [ELV] Directive) governing the disposal of scrap vehicles came into force in the UK in 2003. The aim is to reduce pollution and waste associated with vehicles. To download a copy of the EU Directive click here. This new law introduces responsibility for everybody involved in the manufacture, use and disposal of motor vehicles - including the manufacturer, the recycler and the owner!

In order to increase the level of scrap car recycling, Charles Trent Ltd. has joined forces with Car Take Back. Under this agreement, Charles Trent Ltd will be able to guarantee that it can recycle 85% of a car, compared to the industry norm of 75-80%.
