Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the voluntary action that a business can take, over and above compliance with minimum legal requirements, to address both its own competitive interests and the interests of wider society.

CSR is about a businesses contribution to sustainable development goals; how business takes account of its economic, social and environmental impacts in the way it operates - maximising the benefits whilst minimising the disadvantages.

At Charles Trent Ltd. we believe that we have responsibilities that go beyond the production of goods and provision of services. These responsibilities involve helping to solve important social problems (some of which may have arisen as a by-product of industry), have impacts that go beyond simple marketplace transactions and serve a wider range of human values than can be captured by a sole focus on economic values.

Current legislation recognises and reflects the risks and hazards caused by some of the materials, processes and by-products of the automotive industry and sets high standards to combat these. Charles Trent Ltd. is working closely with the local, national and international organisations to ensure that we are exceeding these regulations and offering a 'best practice' solution within our business.

Charles Trent Ltd. is currently working with all of its business units to ensure strong development of best practice, for example:

• Noise Pollution - carrying out various activities using latest and best available technology, within acceptable hours and to agreed noise levels within the local environment



• Loss of Local amenity - ensuring that the sites do not disrupt the local area and environment



• Legislations - working with local, national and international organisations in continually developing and supporting new legislation that further protects the environment, and creates a more sustainable platform for the future



• Communications - sharing the developments and beliefs of the business through publications and presentations outside of the industry through interaction with Schools, Colleges and environmental groups.

We strongly believe that our Corporate Social Responsibility will not only enable Charles Trent Ltd. to sustain a strong business, but also establish a superior set of values that will distinguish CTL within the marketplace.
